I’m too social to be “social distancing” for this long. I understand the logic of it & I was doing well but it’s finally started to get to me. On the other hand, I’m starting to feel a little more normal. Initially I thought I would take this time to self-improve. I was going to get SO MUCH writing done, I was going to spend even more time walking, working out, & rehabilitating my knee. Nope. None of this. I even missed my own deadline for this newsletter yesterday!
I’m a fairly happy person. I can usually catch my own negativity & stop it because who wants to be grumpy ALL the time? I have found it difficult to stay positive the last six weeks. A lot of bad stuff has happened and it’s stifling. I know some good stuff has happened but it’s hard to get off that downward spiral of negativity. So I won’t go into the bad stuff but I will let you the good stuff & I hope you tell me your good stuff!
1. I’ve read double my normal amount. On average I read about a book a week. I’m reading two books a week, if not more. And I’m calling this research.
2. I stopped binge eating & went back to working out finally. That has greatly improved my mood. I highly suggest morning walks if you have the time.
3. Amy, Stephen, & I have had a lot of fun. We have a pretty good schedule going on. We make sure to spend a couple of hours outside in the evenings, mostly working on football drills & random story ideas for my next anthology (coming out in January.)
4. Amy has painted EVERYTHING in our house & fixed things that we probably wouldn’t have gotten o for a while.
5. Online shopping. Before the “lockdown” happened I had a system in place to reward myself with an article of clothing when I hit a weight goal. I didn’t even get to order my first dress before all this happened but last week I decided to order it.
Getting back to normal, even a little bit, is helping. Working out is helping, writing is helping. I hope you’re getting through this well. I hope you’re reading & writing. I hope happy & good things are happening for you and I hope we call come out of this better in some way.
