On to the next!

We’ve finally closed out 2021 & I was beyond ready for it! I won’t bore you with details of our kooky year, but I will say I’m stoked it’s over.

I have quite a few plans for 2022! In February, two books will be released. My next Crimson Moon Hideaway story comes out in April, another book in July, & then another Crimson Moon story in October. I’ll be signing at my first book con this year in June & my second in September. With all this going on I just accepted a new (i.e. tougher) position at my day job & my family & I are determined to take an actual vacation at some point. 2022 will also bring our 5th wedding anniversary & our son will turn 13, officially becoming a teenager. Even with all this fantastically fun stuff going on, we’ll still have the day-to-day nonsense to deal with. I’m hoping, wishing even, that they nonsense stays to a minimum.

The two books coming out in February are both close to my heart. On February 15th the Late to Love charity Anthology will release. As many of you have heard one of the most amazing women I know, Teri Dees Edney is beginning her battle with cancer. She has done so much for the author community, has done an amazing job running SCBL for the last five years, & has been one of the biggest supporters in my writing journey. It's our turn to do something for her. 29 authors have banded together to bring you a limited-edition anthology. Late to Love is a charity anthology with all proceeds going directly to #Teampink4Teri.The pre-order link is below. My story is called Starting Over. When I started writing it, I intended the story to be about 12,000 words but I ended up with over 25,000. I adore these characters & I was so glad to be able to give Erica & Colt a second chance at love.

Many moons ago, my family & I lived in North Carolina. My great-grandparents had bought land and built a house before I was born. My grandparents had a house on the land, one of my uncles built a house out there, & eventually my parents had a house built on the land as well. On the weekends in the summer, we went swimming & four-wheeling but on the weekends in winter we would sit around the fire, drinking & talking about the future. My future was always going to be writing. One night, it was just me, my dad, and my mom around the fire. We had some drinks & started talking. Out of nowhere my dad said “Hey, what about “Beyond the Lightning Bugs’ for a book title?” I immediately loved it & it stuck with me for all these years. I’m excited to say this story is finally complete & the pre-order is up. On February 21st, Beyond the Lightning Bugs will be released. It also happens to be my dad’s birthday! There’s a sneak peek and a pre-order link below.

In April I’ll release my next Crimson Moon Hideaway story and I’m super excited about it! I’m fascinated by the resort, the characters, & the area it’s in. I see a trip in our future. I don’t want to giveaway too much information, but this story has a lot going on. I’ll tell you a little secret, the main characters are vampires & there may be a love triangle. Soon after this release I’ll be signing at Space Coast Book Lovers! It’s a book con in Cape Canaveral, Florida and I HIGHLY suggest it. Being with a group of people who love books as much as I do is the ultimate weekend.

Check it out!

I’m stepping into this new year with cautious optimism. This is just a small snapshot of what we have going on. There are more books, more conventions, and some secret plans we haven’t shared yet. Stay tuned to see what shenanigans we’ll be getting into. I’m sending you all the MOST positive vibes I can. Wishing all the happiness, success, and safety in your new year!
